The three-year project Establishment of two-stage industry competence centers of vocational education and training led by the Baltic Sea Academy reaches slowly but steadily the final realization phase:
The first stage of a Competence Centre in Poland is successfully running with the implementation of a dual vocational training programme to become a motor mechanic/mechatronic technician.
The second stage is currently being tested with a two-year technician training course in 5 project partner countries by 30.04.2020.
During a visit of several days to Slupsk from 8 to 9 October 2019, the Lead Partner conducted personal interviews with administrators, directors and teachers of the Mechanical-Logistics Vocational Training School of Tadeusz Tanski, the Internship Centre and companies. The assessment of the Competence Center was positive.
The 5th project meeting and the 1st conference to present the project results took place from 17 to 18 October 2019 in Riga. 106 participants came together to discuss vocational education and training in Latvia, its perspectives and the establishment of sector competence centres for vocational education and training. International guests spoke about their experiences and successes in implementing dual vocational training to prepare future managers and owners of SMEs.
With a few exceptions, the participants rated the conference very positively and summarized the content and organization of the event with the following statements: “The auditorium was great and attractive; Keep it that way; Good work; Great.”
