The Education Development and Employment Center is an independent organization which was formed on the basis of Kutaisi Community Youth Center, established by World Vision Georgia in 2004 to support deinstitutionalization reform by the Government of Georgia. The aim was to prevent child abandonment by placing them in foster care and alternative care services. The community center administered pilot Small Group Homes, where children who were brought from large institutions lived in a family-like, caring environment. The center supported vulnerable families, assisted with finding sources of income, and reaching economic self-resilience.
The Education Development and Employment Center, as an independent organization, was established on January 10, 2008, with the goal of improving the social-economic conditions of youth, increasing community engagement, allowing citizens to become rightful members of society, and contributing to improved social-economic conditions in the region. In 2017, the center rebranded itself and now serves its members and beneficiaries with a new image and a new drive.
Today, the Education Development and Employment Center works throughout the country to support civil society development, education, social services development, and economic development. With its head office located in Kutaisi, EDEC runs regional offices in Zugdidi, Gori, Terjola, Samtredia and Saguramo.
The organization has accumulated invaluable experience through working in rural and urban areas on the protection of rights, provision of education, employment, small and medium business development, support for social entrepreneurship, advocacy, and public awareness. With its portfolio encompassing over 50 successfully implemented projects and employing over 50 staff members, EDEC is now a strong institution.

The ECCI operated as a successful organization until 1940, when the Chamber and all other private organizations were forced to close down by the Soviet occupation.
In 1989, the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was re-established with some hundred members as a private, voluntary membership Chamber. Today, the ECCI is the largest business representation organization in the country. The ECCI today has over 3500 members. More importantly, according to a study carried out by Krediidiinfo (Credit Info Estonia), the net turnover of the ECCI members makes more than 41% of the net turnover of ALL Estonian companies, the owner’s equity of the ECCI members makes total about 36% of the capital of all Estonian companies and net profits equal 42% of that of all Estonian companies. The ECCI’s members account for over 85 percent of Estonia’s total exports. These enterprises are predominantly in the textile, metal, timber, construction and food industries.
The majority of the ECCI’s membership represents small and medium size businesses – 95% are SME-s.

Dresden Chamber of Trades and Crafts is a statutory body under public law. It represents the interests of manual trades in the administrative district of Dresden. With 22,200 member companies who employ roughly 120,000 employees, this Chamber of Trades and Crafts is amongst those with the most members in Eastern Germany.
In addition to legal and business advice, the tasks of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts also include advising companies that offer apprenticeships, and advising apprentices and instructors on vocational training. Supervising trainees and completing exams are also tasks of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts. At the training centres of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts in Dresden, Grossenhain and Pirna, numerous possibilities for further education are offered, from specialist courses to master classes through to extra-occupational courses of study.
Membership of manual trades companies at the Chamber of Trades and Crafts is legally regulated and also regulated in the Code of Crafts (Handwerksordnung / HwO). Registration in the Register of Trades and Crafts must take place prior to the beginning of the independent practising of the trade or commercial activity. The independent running of a trade that requires approval is only permitted with this registration.
The proximity to Poland and the Czech republic means cooperation with this countries is strong; cooperation with France is also strong. A regular exchange of apprentices has taken place with these countries for many years.

UL grows as a modern academic institution that provides an environment and infrastructure for outstanding achievements in research, studies and creative endeavours.
UL evolves dynamically – the coming years will see establishment of the study and research centre that will stand among the most modern facilities of Northern Europe – the University of Latvia Academic Centre in Torņakalns. The House of Nature opened its doors in 2015; the House of Science was completed in 2019. Its laboratories are unique both in Latvia and across in the Baltic states. In the coming years, the territory of the Academic Centre will be augmented by the House of Letters, which will be a home to the faculties of humanities and social sciences, institutes and the Library. The subsequent plans involve construction of a Technology Centre, hotels, an academic square, as well as state-of-the-art sports infrastructure, car and bicycle parking.

When education is said, research and development must be mentioned in the same breath. Dr. Martin Neubauer, the head of the education and qualification area of the Styrian Economic Chamber and institute director of WIFI Styria, has always been convinced of this. In 2018, he therefore established a new R&D department at WIFI or in the education sector of the Styrian Economic Chamber. This department should contribute to getting people of all ages excited about learning and education and training again through the use of innovative methods and solutions.
In 2020, Thomas took over the management of the department and, together with Niki, developed the visions and thematic fields of the department. The three focal points into which our projects have been divided since then are “Talent Management I Green Skills I Digital & Innovative Forms of Learning”
A team with the appropriate know-how was recruited, the number of projects increased steadily and the rest is history – but one that is far from over.
Speaking of history, an exciting tale is where our name came from. Finding the name was a team effort, as the original name “Education, R&D” was not ideal for our international projects and partners. A new name was needed and the whole team was called upon to suggest names. After a long creative process with many good as well as bad suggestions, we had THE idea. Our main office is in room 466 on the 4th floor of the WIFI building, which eventually became “Room466″. Room” became “Room” – because of the internationality, of course. And here in our small Room466 we create space for new ideas, innovations and solutions.
